LIQUID IMAGE SPONSORED IDB RACING COMPETES IN THE 92ND ANNUAL PIKES PEAK INTERNATIONAL HILL CLIMB

Santa Rosa, CA., June 23, 2014 – Team IDB Racing made it to the top of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in a total time of 12:10.435 which put the team in 14th in the Time Attack 1 Class and 78th overall out of 130 racers.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is one of the oldest, toughest races in the country located in Colorado Springs.  It is often referred to as “The Race to the Clouds” as the course measures 12.42 miles over 156 turns that begins at 9,390 feet and finishes at the 14,115 foot summit of Pikes Peak.  Liquid Image was proud to sponsor team owner and driver, Wil Kitchens, in IDB Racing’s first major race appearance.  The team brought their purpose-built BMW M3 all the way from Texas to conquer America’s Mountain, but ran into some bad luck in the practice rounds that slowed down the car on race day.

“We started the week off great and after the first day of practice our times put us 6th in class,” said Kitchens. “We came back next day ready to drop our times, but hit a damp spot in the pavement which put the car off track damaging the vehicle’s aerodynamics package beyond repair.”

IDB Racing managed to put the car back together and back on the track with some disadvantages.  Kitchens managed to limp the wounded BMW to the top of the Peak where his team celebrated their first finish at PPIHC.

"Despite finishing much further back in the field than we intended to, we were able to acquire a great deal of information that will help us come back next year in much greater form.  We were able to get some excellent video footage with the Ego HD cameras provided to us by Liquid Image,” said Crew Chief Ryan Warren.  “The cameras functioned wonderfully, the supplied mounts worked flawlessly, and their super simple operation allowed us to focus on other aspects of the car rather than having to fiddle with buttons and settings to get the cameras rolling. An added bonus was their appearance - their bright white finish and sleek styling looks awesome on the car and in photos!"

IDB Racing is a small repair and restoration shop located in Houston, Texas which offers factory diagnostic equipment, bumper-to-bumper repairs, towing and transportation, and more.

LIQUID IMAGE SPONSORED RACE TEAM FINISHES TOP 10 IN WORLD’S LONGEST SNOWMOBILE RACE

Santa Rosa, CA February 27, 2014 – Liquid Image Co., LLC is proud to announce that the Chase Toys Snowmobile team finished 8th out of 48 teams in the annual Iron Dog Race that took place on February 16th in the Alaskan Backcountry.

The Iron Dog Race is known as the world’s longest and toughest snowmobile race covering over 2,000 miles across Alaska in seven days.  Liquid Image was proud to sponsor the Chase Toys riders, Tim Lessard and Chad Dow from Fairfield, Maine.  This was Lessard and Dow’s first Iron Dog Race and they were one of the few non-Alaskan teams to finish in the top 10.  The duo was named “Top Rookie Team of the Year” with a final time of 42:15:09.

“Living so far away from the actual event was a huge challenge.  We didn’t know what to expect, so we trained for all different types of terrain,” said Chase Toys racer, Chad Dow. “The course ended up being extremely difficult.  It was not groomed and there was very low snow this year, at some points we were racing on rock hard ground.”

Besides the harsh terrain, the rookie team also had to battle the Alaskan climate.  With below freezing temperatures and very little shelter at night, some teams were unable to finish the race.  Dehydration is always a factor during the Iron Dog and Lessard and Dow had to train their bodies to survive in such a climate prior

to the race.  Although the two Snowmobile stars from Maine are unsure if they will compete again next year, they are very proud of their accomplishments and thankful to all their sponsors.

Chase Toys is a Ski-doo dealership in Unity, Maine and has been in business since 1967, family owned and operated by Josh Miville. See videos of Lessard and Dow’s race on their Facebook page.
