By restricting access to the public until the threat of the pandemic has been reduced, Bernheim Forest staff are able to focus on the vital task of updating and improving the amenities for visitors.

Can you climb the fire tower at Bernheim Forest?

Yes, you can climb the fire tower at Bernheim Forest. The tower was built in the early 1950s as part of Bernheim Arboretum’s fire control activities. It stands atop a steep hill and offers a stunning view of the surrounding rolling hills of the forest.

To climb it, you must reserve access through Bernheim’s website. Upon arrival, visitors will be provided with an elevator ride up to the top of the tower, where you can take in beautiful views of the forest from the top.

Please keep in mind that the tower is open from sunrise to 8 pm, and visitors should be aware of the area’s many fire safety protocols. A Family membership is $75 per year, and includes unlimited admission for all immediate family members, additional members of the household, as well as discounts on Bernheim classes and events, and 10% discounts on Bernheim Gifts and Cafes.

A Patron membership is $150 per year, and includes unlimited admission for all immediate family members and additional household members, priority registration for select classes and events, and 20% discounts on Bernheim Gifts and Cafes.

All visitors will be asked to provide photo identification at the Visitor Center upon arrival. Failure to have a reservation and photo identification upon arrival may result in a delay or denied entrance.

How long are the Giants going to be at Bernheim Forest?

The Giants will be at Bernheim Forest from April 5th to May 10th. This is a five-week period of time that allows visitors to view the incredible sculptures created by French artist Pierre-Yves Magette.

During this time, Bernheim Forest will be hosting special events such as walks, talks, and workshops centered around the works of the artist. During the Giants’ stay at Bernheim Forest, visitors will also be able to explore the park and its trails.

The Forest is open daily and admission is free. After May 10th, the Giants’ sculptures will be moved to other locations with plans to tour throughout the United States and possibly the world. So, while the Giants will only be in Bernheim Forest from April 5th to May 10th, their journey is just beginning and there is plenty of time to marvel at their unique and inspiring pieces of art.
