The Sun Conference, formerly known as the Florida Conference, is an NCAA Division II athletic conference consisting primarily of schools located in the southeastern region of the United States. The conference currently has twelve full members and one football-only associate member; eleven of those schools are located in Florida, with one school in both Georgia and South Carolina.

Since 2001, the Atlantic Sun Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments have been hosted at various neutral-site locations throughout the Southeast. From 2001 to 2004, the tournaments were hosted in the St.
Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida. From 2005-2015, the tournament switched locations and were held in Alico Arena in Fort Myers, Florida. After two consecutive seasons in Southaven, Mississippi at Landers Center, the tournament returned back to Florida in 2018 and is currently being held in the DeVos Place Conventions Center (formerly known as the Grand Rapids Convention Center) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
