In its final year, the CVAL was divided into two divisions: the CVAL-Tiebreaker and the CVAL-Mile. The CVAL-Mile consisted of Ceres High School, Davis High School, Enochs High School, El Capitan High School, Gregori High School, Johansen High School, and Turlock High School.

The 2020 CVAL Championship was won by the Turlock High School Bulldogs baseball team. The Bulldogs competed in the CVAL-Mile, and entered the tournament as the top seed with a 7-2-1 record. Turlock went undefeated in the tournament, besting Enochs, 8-2, in the championship game.

It was the Bulldogs’ first league title since the program won the CVAL Tournament in 2016.

The Bulldogs’ success was built off stellar defensive play and strong pitching. Senior pitcher Marcus Romo and senior catcher Jacob Nichols led the defensive effort, while sophomore and junior pitchers Adam Castro, Casey Allard, and junior Steven Cabrales led the way on the mound.

Senior utility player Isaiah Herrera provided the offensive spark, recording five hits, seven RBIs, and a home run in the tournament.

Turlock’s championship win marked the end of an era for the CVAL. The conference disbanded after the conclusion of the tourney.
