Mellow Mushroom in Louisville closed its doors at the end of December 2020. The owners cited financial concerns as the reason behind their decision to cease operations at their two Louisville locations.
Citing the unpredictable and tough times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, owner Mark Gorman said that the business had not been able to sustain itself financially.
The restaurant relied heavily on its large dining room, with in-person dining being one of the biggest sources of revenue for Mellow Mushroom. With the pandemic, that was no longer available to them; thus losing a significant part of their income.
Additionally, their summertime catering business was also diminished. Other local restaurants in the area have had to shutter their doors as well, showing that Mellow Mushroom wasn’t alone in its struggles due to uncertainty caused by the pandemic.
It was with much regret that the owners of Mellow Mushroom in Louisville had to close its doors. On their Facebook page, they thanked their many customers for the support they had given over the years.
